Our Head Instructors

Sabumnym Eddie Brosseau began his martial arts journey studying Isshin-Ryu Karate in Knoxville Tennessee in 1978.

He began his Korean martial arts studies while serving in the US Air Force at Kwangju Air Base in Korea 1983. With over 30 years of martial arts training, he is a first generation student of Master Sang Un Jin, the founder and Grand Master of Ho Kuk Mu Sul and the International Ho Kuk Mu Sul Federation.

He currently holds a 3^rd degree black belt in Ho Kuk Mu Sul. He also holds 1^st degree black belts in the traditional martial arts of Kuk Sool Won and Song Moo Kwan Hapkido. His most recent studies are in American Tae Kwon Do Moo Duk Kwan and Tae Guk Kwan (Yang Style Tai Chi Chuan).

He has trained in and taught various martial arts disciplines in Korea, Philippines, Thailand, Germany, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Tennessee, West Virginia, Kansas and North Carolina during his 26 year military career with the United States Air Force. He has been teaching Korean Martial Arts at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base since 2001. Mr. Brosseau opened Goldsboro Elite Martial Arts Academy with his partner Shihan Carlos Martin in 2007, where he is co-owner and head instructor.

Shihan Carlos Martin began his martial arts training in 1987 while living in Browns Mills, New Jersey, training in American Tae Kwon Do Moo Duk Kwan under Grand Master Charles Graham.

Mr. Martin has competed on the local and national karate circuits, winning various titles and championships. He has won multiple National Titles in weapons competition, forms (American and Musical), and sparring. National Grand Champion honors were won on two occasions. Recognized by his peers as a fierce competitor, Mr. Martin was rated in the top 3 in his division in both the Professional Karate League and North American Sport Karate Association for two consecutive years.

Mr. Martin began to hone his teaching skills while teaching at his Father, Sr. Master Joe Martin’s martial arts studios in both, New Jersey and Maryland. Carlos became the head instructor and Black Belt Board member for the All-American Freestyle Karate Academy.

Sensei Louis Thompson comes to us with over 25 years of knowledge in the studies of various martial arts.

As a direct student of Shihan Carlos Martin in the American Tae Kwon Do Moo Duk Kwan Federation since 2003, Sensei Lou has assisted Master Martin as a training partner for many competitions.

Sensei Lou has been an avid supporter of Goldsboro Elite Martial Arts Academy since it's inception in 2007 and is a welcome asset to our Instructors team and to the Goldsboro Elite family.
